Wayne Paul Geringer, 80, of Cahokia, Illinois, born July 2, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, died on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Delmar Gardens on the Green in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Wayne was a retired baker from the former Kroger Bakery, He was a member of the Bakers and Confectioners Union in St. Louis, MO. He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran. Wayne was a past Commander of the V.F.W. Post 1699 in Cahokia, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Ida, nee Roberts, Geringer and his brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his former wife, Shirley Geringer of Columbia, IL; his step daughters, Kelly (Keith) Kennedy of Waterloo, IL and Lynn (Dennis) Agnew of Columbia, IL; and two grandchildren, Andrea (Greg) Yochum and Anthony (Danielle) Martin. He was also a dear uncle, cousin, and friend.

Burial with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Mr. Geringer.
