It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Akers (nee Douglas), a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Wanda departed from this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Wanda is reunited in Heaven with her parents Arthur and Clarissa and sister Sandy, and is survived by her children Christa (Jay) and their children Bella, Tre and Jaxson, Ryan (Grace) and their children Lyla and Wyatt, Tony (William), her sister Sharon (George) her brother Kenny (Tonya), and nephews Mike (Keri) and Brad (Victoria), Angie, Phillip, Marissa, Taylor and Vaughn who will never forget the love and support she brought to their lives.

Wanda was a wonderful grandmother to her five beautiful grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She found immense joy in spending time with them, creating lasting memories through her constant love and support for each of them. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and kept her fighting for a long time.

Wanda's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She always did everything she could to help others, opening her home to anyone in need and going out of her way to support those struggling. She was a true example of paying it forward and giving people a second chance.

A memorial service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held at a later date. The family kindly asks for privacy during this difficult time and appreciates all the love and support from friends and loved ones.

Wanda will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts she touched. Rest in peace, dear Wanda.
