WALTER "WALT" JOSEPH EUGEA, 74, of Cahokia, Illinois, born June 3, 1943, in East St. Louis, Illinois, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his residence.
Walt was retired from Uni-Fab Steel in East St. Louis, IL and was also employed at Dinkins Texaco in Cahokia, IL, Dillards in Fairview Heights, IL, and most recently at the Jewelry Exchange in Cahokia, IL. He was a Vietnam War U.S. Air Force veteran; a member of Teamsters Local 50 of Swansea, IL, and the Knights of Columbus Council 4596 of Cahokia, IL. Walt enjoyed camping, throwing horseshoes and washers, and bowling. He previously bowled on the Monday Sr. League and the Wednesday Night Handicap League at the Village Bowl in Cahokia, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jeanette, nee Jordan, Eugea, Sr.; three brothers, Robert "Sonny", John and Bill Eugea; three sisters, Mary Tomaszewski, Etna Laughton, and Velda Halterman; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Eugea; and a nephew, Chris Baum.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Carren, nee Williams, Eugea; a son, James Eugea of Highland, IL; two brothers, Joe (Robin) Eugea, Jr. of Cahokia, IL and Jim (Vicki) Eugea of Edwardsville, IL; a sister, JoAnn (Charles) Woods of Troy, IL; four grandchildren, Josh, Austin, Courtney, and Kolby Eugea; two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Skylar; his mother-in-law, Josephine Williams of Cahokia, IL; and a brother-in-law, Ron (Bonnie) Williams of Texas. He was also a dear uncle, cousin, and friend.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
In accordance to Walt's wishes, his body was to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
