Walter M. Green, 81, of Cahokia, Illinois, born March 11, 1937 in Pana, Illinois, died Saturday, August 25, 2018, at his residence.

Walter was retired from American Freight in St. Louis, MO and was a member of Teamsters Local 600 in St. Louis, MO. He also retired from the Cahokia School District 187. He was an U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, nee Greene, Green; his parents, Walter E. and Florence J., nee Jones, Green; and a great grandson, Kane Franklin.

Surviving are his children, Debra K. (William) Froebel of Columbia, MO, Brian D. Green of Pennsylvania, John R. (Cathy) Ferry of Dupo, IL, Elizabeth (William) Pennock of Phoenix, AZ, Robert C. (Leasa) Ferry of Edwardsville, IL, Christopher M. Ferry of Kingman, AZ, and Walter C. (Kelly) Green of Roxanna, IL; a brother, Melvin C. (Madolyn) Green of Pana, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
