Virgil F. Heedley, Jr., 90, of Belleville, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born May 16, 1926 in Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on Saturday April 1, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Virgil was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Living Water Church of God in Cahokia, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Irene, nee Hendon, Heedley, Sr.; a daughter, Beverly Foree; three sisters, Sarah Dalton, Katherine McIninch and Geneva Huffman.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy J. Heedley, nee Rice; his children, William (Tabbi) Heedley of Independence, MO., Melissa (Richard) Miller of Belleville, IL., Nicholas Heedley of Texas, Glenda (Al) Henderson of Texas, and Rebecca Heedley of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
