Verna M. Ramirez nee Wagner 67 of Dupo, IL., born November 12, 1957, in St. Louis, MO., passed away on July 14, 2025, at Mercy South Hospital.

Verna retired from Victory Steel in St. Louis, MO. in 2022. She was an avid horseshoe and washer player, bowler, and loved going to the casinos. She enjoyed going on camping and float trips with friends and family.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons.

Preceded in death by her parents; George & Mary Wagner, 1 brother Kenneth C. Wagner, 1 brother-in-law Dale Winter.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years Johnny Ramirez, 1 son Andrew (Robyn) Ramirez of Waterloo, IL. 2 brothers Robert (Bridget) Wagner of Columbia, IL., and George Wagner of Dupo, IL. 1 sister Patricia Winter of Bloomington, IN. 2 grandsons Cole & Cade. Her beloved chihuahua, Lucina.  Verna was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Society of America.

Visitation will be on Monday July 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry RD. Columbia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Msgr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Private cremation to follow.
