Steven Mark Newell, 65, of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born March 20, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his residence.

Steve was retired from Boeing in St. Louis, MO. He was a US Navy veteran and served at the end of the Vietnam War. He was member of Aerospace District Lodge 837 and the NRA. He was an avid pool player and was very good at it.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Newell; his father, Richard Newell; his mother and step father, Geraldine and Edward Uhl; a brother, Bruce Edward Newell; and a step daughter, Rhonda Watkins.

Surviving are his son, Steven A. Newell of Byrnes Mill, MO; a brother, Richard (Linda) Newell of Colorado; a step brother, Edward "Bud" Uhl of cahokia, IL; and three granddaughters, Heather, Elizabeth, and Jennifer Watkins. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Memorial Service will immediately follow 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
