Sook Ja Yan, nee Jun, 82, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born on October 13, 1935, in Seoul Korea, died Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Integrity Rehab and Nursing in Columbia, Illinois.

Sook was a former member of the Korean Church in Chesterfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wai Yan; her parents, and four brothers.

Surviving are her two sons, Val (Tracy) Nordike of Columbia, IL and Victor (Melissa) Nordike of Waterloo, IL; two sisters, Lindell Jun of St. Louis, MO and Judy Jun of Hawaii; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Nicole) Nordike of Millstadt, IL, Jessica Nordike of Columbia, IL, Nora (Curtis) Cantrell of Waterloo, IL, Meg Nordike of Belleville, IL, Hannah Nordike of Columbia, IL, Kyle Nordike of North Carolina, and Chelsea Klein of Columbia, IL; and six great grandchildren. She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
