Shirley L. Ries, nee Parr, 95, of Dupo, Illinois, born March 13, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Missouri.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, Ries and a brother, Jesse Parr.

Surviving are her  children, Beth A. (Brian) Zimmer of Dupo, IL, Brian J. (Jennifer) Ries of High Ridge, MO, and Susan D. Tompkins of Granite City, IL; a brother, Jack (Mary) Parr o fOraville, IL.;  five grandchildrren, Jeremy (Constance) Zimmer, Jenna (Doug) Randolph, Austin (Grace) Ries, Anthony (Lisa) Tompkins, and Angie (Jeremy) Stanley; 12 great grandchildren.  She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
