Shirley A. Geringer, nee Hosna, 83, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 4, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Garden Place in Columbia, Illinois.

Shirley was a retired nurse from Cahokia Nursing and Rehab.  Shirley was a dog lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Bennett; a son, Tommy Buckley; a very dear friend, Wayne Geringer; her parents, Fred and Lillian, nee Branson, Hosna; a brother, Fred Hosna; and a sister, Rose Witt.

Surviving are her daughters, Kelly (Keith) Kennedy and Lynn (Dennis) Agnew, a brother Joe Hosna; a sister, Joann Cawvey; grandchildren Andrea Yochum, Anthony (Danielle) Martin, and Jimmy (Lindsey) Kennedy;  great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
