Sharon L. Straus, nee Trushaw, 74, of Cahokia, Illinois, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, born January 31, 1943 in Malone, New York, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Sharon was a very devout Catholic and attended Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel H. Straus; her parents, Ralph and Genevieve, nee DuPree, Trushaw; and a niece, Penny Bouissey.

Survving are her children, Ruth Straus of Las Vegas, NV., Carrie (Paul) Soules of Las Vegas, NV., Joel (Heather) Straus II of Cahokia, IL.; a brother, William (Virginia) Trushaw of Las Vegas, NV.; two sisters, Janice (Ray) Bouissey of Malone, NY. and Dawn Winters of Midway, GA.; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

In accordance to Sharon's wishes her body was to be cremated with a burial at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada to be held at a later date.
