Shairl E. Acord, 88, of East Carondelet, Illinois, born January 20, 1935 in Fisk, Missouri died Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Dammert Center at Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.

Shairl was a landlord, electrician, plumber, and Jack of all trades. He was a member of St. Matthew's Church in Belleville, IL. and the Accepted Free and Ancient Masons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Irene, nee Cantrell, Acord; three brothers, Thurman, Norman, and Bobbie Acord; a sister, Reba Mitchell; and two grandchildren, Brandon Lovell and Elizabeth Lovell.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Margaret Acord, nee Hart; his children, Rhonda Lovell, Sherry (David Miller) Manick, Michael (Cheryl) Acord, and Suzy (Allen) Levine; his step children, Kathy (Glenn) Snuffin and David (Hiroko) LaMastus, Jr.; a brother, Edward Acord; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 t0 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Palmier Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
