Sandra "Sandy" Kay Sanderson, nee Schoreck, 78, of Cahokia, Illinois, born August 24, 1944 in Salem, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy retired after several years of working in the insurance industry. After her retirement, she went to work for the Cahokia School District 187. She loved being with her family and taking care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delmar Schoreck; two brothers, Ronald, and Michael Schoreck; and a sister, Betty Jane Schoreck.

Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Larry Sanderson; her children, Rhonda (Wes) Wofford, Scott (Nicole) Sanderson, and Stephanie (Kenny) Spisak; her mother, Lorene Schoreck, nee Cox; ten sisters, Janice Schoreck, Penny Haynes, Vicki Painter, Sharon Meece, Karen Rankin, Linda Brimbery, Elizabeth Bohnhoff, Lisa Williams, Joann Tingler, and Mary Yates; three brothers, David, Danny, and Steve Schoreck; eight grandchildren, Ralph (Eren) Wofford, Raquel Wofford, Jack Spisak, Sydney Sanderson, Rece Sanderson, Drew Spisak, Boston Sanderson, and Wade Sanderson; and four great grandchildren. She was also a dear, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois
