Ruth M. Murphy, nee Casey, 106, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 6, 1911 in Ava, Illinois, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Murphy was a life long member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church in Cahokia, Illinois. She was member of the XYZ Club, Helping Hand Mission Group, AARP, Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter 1563 and the Soul Seekers Class.

She loved to crochet and made over 1,000 lap robes for the nursing home and new born babies.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph O. Murphy whom she married December 16, 1931 in East St. Louis, Illinois; her parents Charles and Bertha,nee Bartlett, Casey; a son Jack Paul Murphy; daughter-in-law Norma Murphy; grandson Michael J. Murphy; two sisters Burnell Crisler and Iva Levan; a brother Vernon Casey; a nephew Norman Crisler; a niece Debroah Levan.

Surviving are her son William J and his wife Judy Murphy of Cahokia, IL. She was a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Thursday October 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Colonial Funeral Home Cahokia, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ronny Carroll Officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Belleville, Illinois.
