Ruth Elmore, nee Grimm, 97 years of age, of Cahokia, Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in Waterloo, Illinois, with her family at her side.

She was born on February 13, 1929 in Kimmswick, MO, to William and Marie Grimm.

Ruth resided in Cahokia since 1955, where her and Glenn raised their five children. She owned a Globe Democrat newspaper route and later retired from Cahokia Nursing and Rehab. She attended Crossroad Trinity Church in East Carondelet, IL for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Gale Elmore; her son, Michael Wayne Elmore; and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Patricia (Ron) Kloess, Debra "Sue" (Tim) Bockrath, Kenneth (Kellie) Elmore and Robert Elmore; her siblings, Genie Russo, Liz Able, Theresa (Dean) Henderson, Marth Dolios, and John (Peggy) Grimm;

In accordance with Ruth's wishes a private cremation will be held, with no public service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Mrs. Elmore.
