Ronald F. Gronemeyer, Sr., 79, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, born March 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, died Wednesday, November 18. 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Ronald was a retired Captain with the St. Louis Fire Dept.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL; the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 73; and the St. Louis Hinder Club.

He was preceded in death by a son,  Gregory Gronemeyer; his parents, Alexander and Teresa, nee Stack, Gronemeyer; three brothers, Sonny, Robert, and Lawrence Gronemeyer; a brother-in-law, James Panagos; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Rineshmidt.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Judith, nee Panagos, Gronemeyer; his children, Ronald (Lisa) Gronemeyer, Jr.,  Christine (Jeffrey) Baldas, and Susan Gronemeyer; three sisters-in-law, Mary Gronemeyer, Joyce Panagos, and Sherian Panagos; and eight grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, George, Mia, Katlyn, Samuel, Chloe, and Carson.  He was also a dear uncle, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Illinois.  A Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Monsignor Carl Scherrer officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
