Ricky Wayne Massie, Sr., 75, of Columbia, Illinois, born May 20, 1948 in Hurst Bush, Illinois, died Monday, April 15, 2024 at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ricky was a retired truck driver for Rogers Cartage Company in Sauget, IL.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 50,  Masonic Lodge 474 A.F. and A.M.,(32nd Degree) in Columbia, IL and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Belleville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Nellie, nee Halloran, Massie; and four brothers,Douglas, Maurice "Don", Steven, and Randy.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Massie, nee Capps; his children, Ricky W. Massie, Jr. of Dixon, MO, Deana Massie of Pocahontas, IL, Tammy (Kurt) Canova of Chesterfield, MO,, and Brandi (Adrian) Caballero of San Antonio, Tx; a brother, Roger (Cathy) Massie of Waterloo, IL; four sisters, Brenda Kempen of Red Bud, IL, Cynthia (John) Love of Columbia, IL, Roxann Massie of Waterloo, IL, and Kathy (Bunky) Brooks of Belleville, IL; six grandchildren, Tony (Vanessa) Cobillas, Shayne Bovinette, Shyann Bovinette, Kameren Canova; Konner Canova, and Claire Caballero; and a great granddaughter, Juliana Cobillas  He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Josh Taylor officiating.   Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
