Richard "Rick" Charles Latta, 69, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born February 17, 1955 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Mercy Rehab and Care Center in Swansea, Illinois.

Rick retired from Alton & Southern Railway after 40 years, where he worked as an engineer. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, the St. Louis Cardinals & St. Louis Blues, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward "Eddie" Latta, and his brothers, Charles Latta and Brian Latta.

Surviving are his sons, Richard "Aaron" Latta of Chandler, Arizona and Philip Latta of Chandler, Arizona; his mother, Glenda Latta of Belleville, Illinois; his siblings, Michael (Linda) Latta of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Daniel Latta of Jacksonville, Florida, Judith (William "Sonny") Travis of Summerfield, Florida, Juanita Marlow of Belleville, Illinois, and Karen Latta of Belleville, Illinois. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

A private Celebration of Life will take place on November 29, 2024 for loved ones to remember a great guy who had a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed.
