Richard E. Chester, 56, of Madison, IL., formerly of Cahokia, IL., born January 4, 1961 in St. Louis, MO., passed away on Sunday April 23, 2017 at his residence.

Richard was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1699 in Cahokia, IL. He was an avid Nascar Fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna Chester, nee Taft; his parents, Ray H. and Mary R., nee Pratt, Chester, Sr.; two brothers, James A. Jones, Ray H. Chester, Jr.; a sister, Melinda K. Blakely.

Surviving are his siblings, Donna (DJ) Flores of Beaufort, S.C., Charles A. (Dorothy) Chester. Sr. of Dupo, IL., Jeffery D. Chester of Cahokia, IL., and Frances (Curtis) Parson of Ellsberry, MO.;a step son, Shannon Taft of Colorado; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his constant companion Ojay.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the funeral home with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
