Richard J. Barneko, 79, of Cahokia, Illinois, born September 3, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Friday, September 9, 2022 at his residence.

Richard was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary, nee McNutt, Barneko; a brother, Billy Barneko; and a sister-in-law, Nora Oberlender.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Barneko, nee Wilson, his sons, Richard T. (Debbie Fults) Webner and James Barneko, both of Cahokia, IL; a brother, Dennis (Norma Jean Wilson) Barneko of Dupo, IL; and a sister, Patricia Allen of Kentucky. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

A private cremation will be held with a burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
