Ray David Bennett, 71, of Cahokia, IL. born January 21, 1950 in Red Bud, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Bennett served in the US Army. He retired from the Rail Road after many years of service and was an avid chess player.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irma Bennett.

Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Shirley A. Bennett nee Hosna; his children, Katie (Matt) Chrapek, Christopher(Tina) Bennett, Ray David Bennett II., Lynn (Dennis) Agnew and Kelly (Keith) Kennedy, a sister Brenda Stroud and many grandchildren. Ray was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Graveside services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 9:30 am everyone to meet at cemetery by 9:15 am.
