Phylis J. Kohlenberger, nee Wheelis, 81, of Williamston, South Carolina, formerly of Dupo, Illinois, born April 5, 1936 in Lone Hill, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Anderson, South Carolina.

Phylis was a member of Calvary General Baptist Church in Dupo, Illinois and loved to sing especially at church and during visits to the nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Kohlenberger; a daughter, Sandra Levora; a grandson, Matthew Levora; four sisters and one brother.

Surviving are her children, Billy Kohlenberger of Washington, MO, Paul "Doug" (Kathy) Kohlenberger of Dupo, IL and Randy (Laura) Kohlenberger of Williamston, SC; a sister, Bettie Palmer of St. Peters, MO; seven grandchildren, Will, Paul, Scott, Amy, Alison, Seth and Hannah; and 11 great grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 28, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Gale Lambert officiating. Burial will be at Palmier Cemetery in Columbia, Illinois.
