Penny Sue Riley, age 66, born April 10. 1960 in St. Louis, MO., passed away on May 1, 2026 in Sullivan, IL.

Penny was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Gene, on June 17, 1978, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and dedication to one another.

She was a devoted mother to her two children, Matthew P. Riley (Amanda) and Wendy M. Bohannon (Derrick), who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life. Penny cherished her role as a grandmother to Ethan, Destiny, Madelyn, Britni, Sammy, and Payten, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her greatest delight came from her great-grandchildren, Juniper and August, who were truly the apple of her eye.

Penny's true passion was sewing. She loved to create beautiful pieces and generously share her handmade creations with family and friends, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for years to come.

She is survived by her siblings, Larry (Linda), Diane (Fritz), David (Melody), Nancy, Anne (Dennis), and Sharon (Mike), along with an uncountable number of beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Betty Anders.

Penny will be remembered for her love of family, her creativity, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations of her family.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Holy Family/St. Joseph Cemetery, Dupo, IL.
