Paul Lewis Sudmeier, 79 of East Carondelet, Illinois, born August 2, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Paul was a U.S. Air National Guard veteran and employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad until he went into the family business of W.C. Sudmeier Service Company both of Dupo, IL. He was a member of the Cahokia Moose Lodge #423, President of the Prairie Du Pont Historical Society and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dupo, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Florence, nee Lewis, Sudmeier.

Surviving are his daughters, Paula (Wayne) Lee and Janelle Amaro both of Columbia, IL and Joellen (John) Nickel of Gillespie, IL; three grand daughters, Jessica, Mya and Kadence; and a dear friend, Linda Hay. He was also a dear cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home Columbia, Illinois.

Funeral Service on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Palmier Cemetery in Columbia, Illinois.
