Patricia J, Redd, nee Ruiz, 81, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born November 14, 1936, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Patricia was a past president of the V.F.W. Post 1699 Ladies Auxiliary, Cahokia, IL, the Eagles 545 Auxiliary, Shiloh, IL and the Mother's Club of Holy Family Church, Cahokia, IL.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, in infancy, Karen Kay Redd; her parents, Peter and Ester, nee Buchholz, Ruiz; a brother, Joe Ruiz; and two sisters, Catherine Smith and Delores Boose.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Eugene E. Redd; her children, Edward Hamlin of Austin, TX, Ronald (Terrie Vogt) Hamlin of Waterloo, IL, Eugene Redd II of St. Louis, MO, and Patricia (Scott) Kappler of Waterloo, IL; a brother, Peter Ruiz of Billings MT; a sister, Phyllis Ruiz of Belvidere, IL; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Stephen and Crystal Hamlin, Christina Gilmore, Kayla and Ryan Hamlin, Misty (Greg) Kluba, Melissa (Stan) Smith, and Lisa Day; and 14 great grandchildren. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
