Olan "Sonny" D. Teal, 74, of Cahokia, Illinois, born December 22, 1947 in Wolf Bayou, Arkansas, died Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his residence.

Sonny was retired from Emerson Electric in St. Louis, MO. He was an U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Geneva, nee Sandfur, Teal; a brother Ricky Teal; a sister, Hazel Penrod; and a nephew, Justin E. Jones.

Surviving are his sister, Donna (Robert) Damewood of Prairie du Rocher, IL; two nephews, Kenneth Jones and Todd Harris; and a great niece, Ellianna Prince. He was also a dear cousin and friend.

In following with Sonny's wishes, a private cremation was to be had. Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Olan Teal.
