Norman E. Lehr, 75, of Belleville and Columbia, Illinois, born March 30, 1944, in Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Norman was a career welder and retired from Interstate Machine Company and was formerly employed by Hunter Packing and Swift Independent, in East St. Louis, IL. He was a member of the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge 1221 and he volunteered for the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps Norman also coached soccer at Belle Clair in Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Lehr, nee Crockett; his former wife, Rita E. Lehr, nee Sudduth; parents, Woodrow and Merle, nee Depping, Lehr; and a brother, William K. Lehr.
Surviving are his children, Kenneth (Lauren Vaz) Lehr of Belleville, IL, John (Lynn) Lehr of Mount Vernon, IL, and Susan (Michael Lootens) Lehr of Belleville, IL; two brothers, Woodrow Lehr, II of St. Louis, MO and James Lehr of Norfolk, VA; and eight grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa, Evan, Owen, Clayton, Jordyn, Braden, and Dawson. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Norman's family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at SSM Hospice for the kind and gentle care that they gave him.

In lieu of flowers, any memorial donations may be made in Norman's memory to any charity of the donor's choice.
In following Norman's request, his body was cremated. There will be no formal services, also at his request.
