Norma "Louise" Woods Staggs, 88, of Swansea, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born September 9, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Louise was a member of the former First Christian Church and Cahokia Park United Methodist Church, both of Cahokia, IL. She was also a member and served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Center for Autism.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Staggs; her parents, William and Lela, nee Kelsay, Woods; two brothers, George and Wayne Woods; and a brother-in-law, Clark Ragsdale.

Surviving are her son, David Staggs and five sisters, Maxine (Gerald) Ard of St. James, MO, Dolores (Hershel) Ragsdale of O'Fallon, IL, Phyllis Ragsdale of Dupo, IL, Linda (Jim) McFadden of Piedmont, MO, and Donna (Richard) Fox of Piedmont, MO. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Center for Autism.

Friends may visit from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Todd Mushaney officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
