Nancy K. Dowdy nee Petterson 74 of Highland, IL., formerly of Cahokia, IL. Born April 28, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL., passed away on January 9, 2024 in St. Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

Nancy was formerly employed by Centreville Hospital where she worked in administration, and Cahokia Walmart as a pharmacy tech for many years. She was an avid bowler for many years and loved watching her TV shows, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and siblings.

Preceded in death by her parents William & Valeria nee Williams,Petterson, a sister and brother-in-law Sally (David) Fanning. Sister-in-law Marjorie Petterson and a brother-in-law Bill Dill.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years James C. Dowdy Jr. her children; Jason (Nicole) Prewitt of Waterloo, IL., Natalie (John) Kilhafner of Belleville, IL., James Dowdy of Belleville, IL. 3 sisters Sue (Ed) Fulton of Collinsville, IL., Karen Dill of Pontoon Beach, IL., Patti (Barry) Gregory of Belleville, IL. 1 brother James (Diane Dettwiler) Petterson of Waterloo, IL., 4 grandchildren; Jayden, Addyson, Ryker, Jackson. Nancy was a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 12, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 am with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
