Nancy L. Batson, nee Singletary, 91 of Waterloo, IL, born October 4, 1935 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 in Waterloo, IL.

Nancy was retired from the Cahokia School District #187 and a lifelong member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and deep dedication to family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and lasting legacy of love and will remain in the hearts of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Batson,her parents; Paul and Maude Singletary; sister Anne Carter; son-in-law, Danny Tenholdner and great grandson, Zander Batson.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Jama) Batson, Terri Tenholdner, Randy (Beth) Batson and Carla Mercer (Ron Stumpf); grandchildren, Jeremy (Megan), Joshua (Cheryl), Kyle, Daniel (Casey), Randell (Steph), Jacob (Erica), Logan, Maddie (DJ) and McClane; 15 great grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, October 30, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Braun Family Funeral Home Columbia, Illinois. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Minister Riley Adkisson Officiating. Burial will be at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery Columbia, Illinois.
