Murline F. Beggs, nee Tippy, 77, of Columbia, Illinois, born September 30, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Green Park Senior Living Center in St. Louis, MO.

Murline was a school custodian and bus driver for the Millstadt School Dist. for many years. She was the leader and avid voice for the Custodian Union Teamster Local #50 in Swansea IL. She was a loyal and loving mother and grandmother. Murline loved doing crosswords and playing poker with her family. She had a style of her own and loved to decorate for the holidays. She was a fantastic cook and loved cooking meals for her family, Murline was married for 47 years to James Steven Beggs, and they enjoyed traveling to Branson many times over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Steven Beggs; her parents, Paul and Jewell, nee Sorrels, Tippy; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Bretz.

Surviving are her children, Joseph Huffman of Columbia, IL, Kevin (Christine) Huffman of California, MO, and Stephanie (Seth) Hubbard of Columbia, IL; two sisters, Ellen Louise Bretz of Schrewsbury, MO and Charlotte Tippy of Columbia, IL; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla (David), Tyler (Yureli), Megan, Emily, Hailey and Hayden; and six great grandchildren, Everett, Eli, Olivia, Sammy, Grayson and Thiago; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Ott of Columbia, IL. Murline was a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry RD Columbia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Private cremation will follow.
