Michelle A. Melendez, 48, of Cahokia, Illinois, born November 10, 1977 in New York, New York, died Friday, June 26, 2026 at her residence.

She was an avid fan of the "Hocus Pocus" movies. She loved being with her children and other family members. She enjoyed coloring in coloring books and loved to cook. At one time she had a pet rat named "Jr." that she loved to take care of.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Madeline, nee Fiumara, Melendez.

Surviving are her significant other, Terrance Dunlap; her children, Madalynn and Tiffany Dunlap, both of Cahokia, IL and Timothy Dunlap of Belleville, IL; her sisters, Linda (Andrew Warden) Leonard of Bay Shore, NY and Victoria Sosa of Amsterdam, NY; five nieces and two nephews.  She was also a dear cousin and friend.

In accordance to Michelle's wishes, a private cremation was to be held. Braun Family Funeral Home in Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Michelle.
