Michael Paul "Mickey" Kerbel, 74, of Dupo, Illinois, born December 24, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, died August 10, 2023 at John Cochran VA Medical Center.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, a coal miner, a volunteer firefighter and a security guard. He loved driving the back roads looking for yard sales and finding odd trinkets. He loved his family, his grandchildren and Paula. He will be missed immensely. Mickey never met a stranger. Anyone who Knew him was a friend even if just a passing acquaintance.
Mickey was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel; his father, Martin; and his sisters, Karen, Suzy and Kelly.
He leaves behind his partner for 15 years, Paula; his daughter, he raised from 7 months old, Mandy; his nieces, Amy, Shannon, and Sarah; and nephews, Michael, Adam, and Jeff.
The family is working on planning a celebration of life and will let everyone know as soon as we have all the details.
