Michael Anthony Hardy, Sr., 37, of Cahokia, IL., born August 10, 1980 in St. Louis, MO., passed away suddenly on Monday, July 23, 2018, at his residence.
Michael was a bricklayer with the Bricklayers Union Local 1 of St. Louis, MO. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, IL and was and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Hardy and a brother-in-law, Robert Velasco.
Surviving are his wife, Christina M. Hardy, nee Velasco; his children, Miranda Mae and Michael Anthony Hardy, Jr., both at home; his mother, Susan C. (Jerry) Sharney of St. Louis, MO.; a brother, Matthew Hardy of California; three sisters, Mary S. Hardy of St. Louis, MO., Melissa A. (Mike) Reinholdt of St. Louis, MO., and Judith Ann Missey of Trenton, IL.; his grandmother, Shirley Stanfill of St. Louis, MO.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert P. and Norma J. Velasco of Cahokia, IL.; a brother-in-law, Ray (Amy) Velasco of Desoto, MO.; four sisters-in-law, Mary (Steve) Nowak of Fair Dealing, MO., Anna (Andy) Mason of Troy, IL., Diane (Lynn) Eversgerd of Cahokia, IL., and Theresa Dundon of Cahokia, IL. He was also a dear nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Funeral procession to leave at 9:20 a.m. from Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Burial in St. Joseph/Holy Family Cemetery, Dupo, Illinois.
