Michael  Wayne  Beasley, 73, of East Carondelet, Illinois, born July 21, 1950, in Dorena, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was retired from Solutia W.G. Krummrich Plant in Sauget, IL, where he was a Chemical Operator, Fire Captain, Security Specialist, and a Department Trainer.  After his retirement, Michael was the owner/operator of My Gym in Chesterfield, MO, where he was known as Mr. Mike.  For the last six years, he worked as a Railroad Engineer at the Saint Louis Zoo. He was a member of the International Chemical Workers Union, Local 12, and a 3rd Degree member of the Scottish Rite - Valley of Southern Illinois in Belleville, IL.  Mike also had served as a medic in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. and Maxine F., nee Brantley, Beasley; and a brother, Mark S. Beasley

Surviving are his wife, Lisa, nee Muraszewski, Beasley; his daughters, Summer (Matt Coff) Beasley of St. Louis, MO and Sunny (Ray Ortega) Beasley of Dupo, IL; a brother, Jim (Paula) Beasley of Waterloo, IL; two sisters, Vanessa Shaw of Waterloo, IL and Sharon Cook of Belleville, IL; and five grandchildren, Elika and Aria Coff, Dustin and Dawson Kemp, and Mycala Ortega.  He was also a dear son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in Mike's name to Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, MO, or to the Saint Louis Zoo.

In following Michael's wishes, a private cremation was to be held. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating.
