Michael Edward Atkins, 62, of Cahokia, Illinois, born November 23, 1955 in Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his residence.

Michael was retired from Boeing in St. Louis, MO. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Paderborn Fishermen's Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie E. Atkins.

Surviving are his girlfriend, Renee Butler of Cahokia, IL; his son, Jonathan (Amber) Atkins of Marissa, IL; his mother, Betty "Regina" Atkins of Cahokia, IL; and a sister, Kathy (Kenny) Holden of Columbia, IL. He was also a dear uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
