Melvin Z. Gulley, 93, of Cahokia, Illinois, born October 15, 1931 in Illmo, Missouri, died Saturday,, July 26, 2025 at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Melvin was retired from Flag Steel in St. Louis, MO.  He was U.S. Army veteran.  He attended Living Waters Church in Cahokia, IL. He was a member of Teamsters Local 688 in St. Louis, MO. He loved to fish and hunt and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Jean Gulley, nee Russom; his parents, Theodore and Opal, nee Rubel, Gulley, a son, Michael Gulley; a daughter-in-law, Daryl Gulley; a brother, Ralph Gulley; and two sisters, Velma Surgant and Olga Lance.

Surviving are her children, Melvin (Judy) Gulley of Lakeland, FL, Gregory Gulley of Dupo, IL, Lisa (Harry Koehler) Turley of Columbia, IL, and Rebecca (Ben) Black of Midwest City, OK; a sister, Delores "Kit" Stull of Scott City, MO; ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating.  Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
