Maxine Elaine Watkins, nee Horton, 72, of Sauget, Illinois, born January 12, 1950 in Evansville, Indiana, died Monday, November 14, 2022 at her residence.

She was a very proud Jehovah Witness. She loved to crochet. her husband and crocheting were her whole life before he passed away.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Watkins and her parents, Robert and Doris, nee Byer, Horton.

Surviving are her children, Kimberly (Charles) Butler of Sauget, IL, Jeffrey (Sarah) Watkins of Glen Carbon, IL, and Lindsey (Stanley) Schroeder of Sauget, IL; a brother, Edward (Barbara) Horton of Elberfeld, IN; and five grandchildrten, Charles, Jr., Kara,and Ariana Butler and Vivian and Maxwell Watkins. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

In following with the wishes of Maxine, a private cremation will be held followed by a private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri to be with her husband David.
