Mary Frances Weber, nee Wash, 97, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 14, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was retired from K-Mart in Cahokia, IL. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL, where she was a former sacristan. After she retired, she taught herself how to crochet and would make afghans for family and friends who were being treated for cancer. As an at home volunteer for Mercy Hospital, she crocheted prayer shawls for oncology patients.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Weber, Jr.; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Weber; her parents, Joseph and Imelda, nee Weber, Wash; three brothers, Jesse, Kenneth, and Harvey Wash; her sister and dear friend, Ethel Fendler; and her furry friend, (the famous) Ike.
Surviving are her children, Christine (Schooner) Fitzgerald, Robert "Buddy" Weber, and Barbara Weber, all of Cahokia, IL; two grandsons, Jacob (Angela) Weber and Matthew (Brittainy Whitnah) Weber; great grandchildren, Emily, Alexis, and Dakota Weber, and Jeffrey Richardson; Step-Grandsons, Eric Kohlberg and family, Schooner, John and Travis Fitzgerald and families; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends; and her furry friend (the mighty) Victor.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses at Holy Family or Sacred Heart; the Holy Family Building Fund; or Vitas Hospice.
Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois, followed by a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Burial Will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
