Mary "Louise" Hill, of Cahokia, Illinois, born June 21, 1928, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O'Fallon, Illinois,

Mary was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter and a life long member of St. Matthews Baptist Church of East St. Louis, IL.

People that knew Mary called her Louise and she was also known as "Sugar Momma" by her nursing home friends. She loved to dress well and look her finest at all times. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to her blues and dancing. And oh my, how she loved cooking those southern down home meals.

Mary lived a wonderful life of 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Hill of Yazoo City, MS; two daughters, Alice Hill of Yazoo City, MS and Betty Hill of East St. Louis, IL; and a grandson, Harry Hollingsworth III of East St. Louis, IL.

Surviving and cherishing her memory are her six children, Walter Lee (Rose) HIll of East St. Louis, IL, Christopher (Doris) Hill and Doll (Ramon) Williams, both of Cahokia, IL, Freddie Hill and Alan Hill, both of St. Louis, MO, and Carletta Hill of Collinsville, IL; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,,and other relatives and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
