Mark R. Underwood, Sr., 57, of Granite City, Illinois,born November 2, 1966 in Blytheville, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, Illinois.

Mark was retired from Brewer's Printing in South County, MO.  He had also worked at Bob Evans Restaurant in Collinsville, IL.  He was a member of Apostolic Revival Church in Highland, IL. Mark enjoyed fishing and watching sports. He loved his family and his church family.  He loved to make people laugh, so he always had a joke to tell. However, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and date nights with his wife, Donna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvis and Rosemary, nee Davis, Underwood and a brother, Mike Underwood.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Donna Underwood, nee Duncan; his children, Tiffanee (Matthew) Gergen of Staunton, IL, Stephanie (Darren Kuehnel) Underwood of Granite City, IL, and Mark (Sarah Pursell) Underwood, Jr. of Wood River, IL; five grandchildren, Brayden Beatte, Derek O'Brian, Owen Gergen, Baylee Gergen, and Adalynn Kuehnel; and his mother-in-law, Norma Duncan of South County, MO.  He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and can be received at the funeral home.

Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, 265 Quarry Road, Columbia, Illinois.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Frank Crossin officiating.  In following Mark's wishes a private cremation will follow.
