Marjorie L. Reed, nee Layton, 90, of Waterloo, IL., formerly of Cahokia, IL., was born on November 15, 1926 in Cape Girardeau, MO., passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Oak Hill in Waterloo surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Reed was a former member of the Cahokia Senior Citizens and a member of Illinois Women's Bowling Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Barney" F. Reed; her parents, Leo and Ruth, nee Kinder, Layton; her sister, Helen Morse; and a brother, Richard Thomas.

Surviving are her children, Donna (Jerry) Maloy of Waterloo, IL., William D. (Christine) Reed of Waterloo, IL., and Linda (Jerry) Sale of St. John, MO.; seven grandchildren, Gina (Jack) Mathews, George "Trey" Baur, William D. Reed Jr., Dawn Mungovan, Brett (LeAnn) Reed, Mia Reed, and Tomi (Gentry) Russell; seven great grandchildren, John, Michael, Heather Mathews and Connor, Clera, Casey, Corey and Colin Mungovan; and one great great grandson Tristan Mathews. She was a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Braun Family Funeral Home, 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
