MARGARET A. EMBREY, nee Veath, 76, of Staunton, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 17, 1941, in Evansville, Illinois, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Margaret was a retired nurse's aid from the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Embrey; her parents, Clemens and Margaret, nee Carey, Veath; a grandson, Eric Embrey; and five brothers.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, William D. Embrey, Sr.; her children, William (Marci) D. Embrey, Jr. of West Virginia, Paula Kennealy of Fairview Heights, IL, Julie (Troy) Summerfield of Arkansas, Jeanette (Pat Melton) Pool of Staunton, IL, and Keith (Shannon) Embrey of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m., with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, Missouri on Friday, August 25, 2017.
