Loretta Fay Harris, nee Greer, 71, of Cahokia, IL, born October 6, 1950 in Granite City, IL, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Barnes/Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Loretta retired from Wells Fargo in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cahokia, IL. She also worked as a beautician; Spartan Health Club manager; Aerobics instructor in 1980 on TV; medical assistant; OBGYN at Gateway Hospital in Granite City, IL; and at A.G. Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven L. Harris; a son, James Edward Shafer; her parents, Albert and Rosie, nee Frye, Greer; a brother, James D. Greer; a sister, Wanda Page; and a grandson, James Shafer Jr.

Surviving are her children, William (Christina) Owens of Granite City, IL and Kimberly Harris of Cahokia, IL; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Cook, Esther (Dan) Murphy,and Matthew Cook; four great grandchildren, Mark Murphy, Stella Murphy, Jeremy Cook, and Aaron Cook; and his father and mother-in-law, Hobie and Betty Harris of Cahokia, IL. Loretta was also a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 7;00 p.m. with Pastor David Wright officiating. Private cremation will follow.
