Lloyd J. Metz, Sr., 90, of Cahokia, Illinois, born December 2, 1927 in Fornfelt, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Touchette Regional Hospital, Centreville, Illinois.
He was a retired Clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.. He loved to bowl and was on several leagues at West Park Bowl in Columbia, IL and Bel Air Bowl in Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma B. Metz, nee Wilson; his parents, Arthur and Lillian, nee Martin, Metz, Sr.; a brother, Arthur J. Metz, Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Hamilton.
Surviving are his children, Lloyd "LJ" (Teresa) Metz, II of Fenton, MO., Tracey (Mick) Eddington of New Minden, IL., and Cynthia A. Metz of Cahokia, IL. .; two brothers, C. Barney Metz and twin Floyd G. Metz both of Columbia, IL.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon) Tinker, Tim Carpenter, Wesley Eddington, Nikita (Justin) Hutchings; four great grandchildren, Tyreed, Avren and Rowan Tinker and Gavin Hutchings. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m .on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the funeral home with Father William McGhee officiating. Entombment in Valhalla Mausoleum, Belleville, Illinois.
