Linda C. James, nee Readhead, 79, of Waterloo, Illinois, born December 12, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at her residence.

Linda was retired from the Women's Crisis Center in Carbondale, IL. She was an avid fan of the Game Show Network, Lifetime, and the series, Blue Bloods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred "Midge", nee Herron, Readhead and a brother, Stephen Readhead.

Surviving are her daughters, Natalie (John) Watts of Brighton, IL and Kimberly (Boyd
"Butch" McGathey) Augustine of Waterloo, IL; two sisters, Debbie Maney of Normal, IL and  Pam (Mike) Foley of Collinsville, IL; a sister-in-law, Leslie Readhead of Slidell, LA
four grandchildren, Michael (Lilly) Augustine, Jr. of Waterloo, IL; Sgt. Jake Augustine, serving in the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan,  Meghan (Mark) Enskat,of Freeburg, IL and John Watts of Brighton, IL;  and five great grandchildren, Madilynn, Macoy, and Malia  Enskat and Koen and Ivy Augustine. She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

In following Linda's wishes a private cremation was to be held.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.
