Leroy Ketcherside, 98, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, formerly of Granite City, Illinois, born January 15, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Monday, May 9, 2022 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, Missouri.
Leroy was retired from St. Louis Music. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Leroy was an avid collector of coins, stamps, and miniature cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth, nee Hamilton, Ketcherside; a daughter, Teresa Caballero; his parents, Matthew and Louise, nee Wigger, Ketcherside; two brothers, Harold and Eddie Ketcherside; and a sister, Shirley Wrinkle.
Surviving are his children, Gary (Gratia Elsworth) Ketcherside, Sharon (Michael) Greco, Pamella (Michael) LaChance, Linda Mansfield, Angela (Steve) Poston, Diane (Jim Raymer) Hunt, Debbie (Leonard) Vandever, Roxanne (Thomas) Hilboldt, and Beth (Greg) Schumacher; a son-in-law, Edward Caballero; a sister, Betty Marler; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bryan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
