Leland D. Waln, 74, of Patoka, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born October 10, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, December 23, 2024 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Leland was retired from Metal Tech in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Lorraine, nee Whiteside, Waln and three brothers, Carroll Ray, Keith, and Vincent Waln.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Waln, nee Imergoot; his children, Melissa (David) Mothershead of Fults, IL, Dana (Scott) Kraut of Belleville, IL, Terra Torrez of Snyder, TX, and Leland "Danny" Waln of Patoka, IL; a sister, Connie Asher of Russellville, AR; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.  He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. A private cremation will follow.
