Lawrence "Larry" B. Rottnek, 84, of Cahokia, Illinois, born October 11, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Integrity Health Care, Columbia, Illinois.

Larry was retired from American Can Company in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Leo Jerome Assembly 1666 of Cahokia, IL

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Rottnek; a daughter, Cheryl Phenix; a granddaughter, Donna Schaffer; and his parents, Ralph and Johanna, nee Koerber, Rottnek.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Arlene Rottnek, nee Dobberstein; his children, Angela (Tim) Schaffer of Cahokia, IL, Teri Mills of Millstadt, IL, JoAnn "Jodi" (Kevin) Malone of Belleville, IL, and Steve Rottnek of Michigan; eleven grandchildren and nine grandchildren. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made in the form of masses.

A private Mass of the Christian Burial was held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois, Father Linus Umoren officiated. Burial was in Holy Family/St. Joseph Cemetery, Dupo, Illinois. A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the old Knights of Columbus building, 100 East Fifth St., Cahokia, Illinois. Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Larry and his family.
