LAUREN O. KLOTH, 89, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born September 18, 1927, in Sparta, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Kloth was retired from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Columbia, IL; the International Association of Machinist Local 837 of St. Louis, MO; and the American Legion Post 581 of Columbia, IL. He also was a volunteer information desk worker at the Monroe County Courthouse.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah M. Kloth, nee Schaeffer; his parents, Otto and Violet, nee Schultz, Kloth; and three brothers, Kenneth, George, and Ronald Kloth.
Surviving are his son, Larry (Joanne) Kloth of Whiting, IN; a sister, Maybell (Ronald) Lesson of Mount Morris, IL; and three grandchildren, Alex (Afton), Nick, and Dejan Kloth. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m, on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the funeral home, with Pastor Allynn Walker officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
